A Note From Me from January 2025

January holds a special place for me—not only because it marks my birthday but also because it symbolizes the excitement of new beginnings. I thrive on the fresh energy that comes with a new year, and 2025 feels especially significant with both my personal milestone of turning 43 and my 18th year in real estate. It’s a time to reflect on how far I’ve come and how much further I can go, especially as I step into the new cycle of the Wood Snake in the Chinese Zodiac, which symbolizes growth, renewal, and transformation.

One of the things I’ve been thinking about this year is how I can shift from being more reactionary in my business to being more proactive and intentional. In real estate, where things can change on a dime, I’ve often found myself responding quickly to clients, prospects, and opportunities. This "always on" mentality has served me well in terms of providing exceptional service, but I’m curious about how building a more structured, proactive approach could enhance my productivity and happiness—both personally and professionally.

In the real estate industry, our days are full of meetings, showings, negotiations, and client check-ins. But how often do we thoughtfully plan time for each of these elements, or even carve out space for deep, uninterrupted work that can lead to better decision-making and long-term growth? I’ve started reading about the concept of a “perfect week,” which is essentially about creating a balanced, intentional schedule that aligns with my priorities. For me, this means not only focusing on transactions but also nurturing the relationships that have supported my success—my team, my business partners, past clients, and future prospects.

This year, I’m committed to strategically preloading my calendar to ensure I’m spending time on high-value activities. Regular check-ins with my team and business partners can help foster collaboration and ensure we’re aligned on goals, while dedicating time for past clients and prospects can keep those relationships strong and dynamic. By proactively scheduling these touchpoints, I’ll be able to serve my clients better, build stronger partnerships, and open the door to more referrals.

Another shift I’m contemplating is limiting my response time after 7pm. Real estate is a 24/7 business, and it can be easy to fall into the trap of feeling like I need to be constantly available. However, I’ve come to realize that if I don’t intentionally create time to reset, I’m not serving anyone—my clients, my business, or myself—at my highest level. By setting clear expectations, I’ll ensure I’m fully present during business hours and more energized and focused when I’m working. Rest is just as essential to real estate success as the hustle itself.

2025 is all about taking the lessons I’ve learned over the past 18 years in the business and applying them in a more deliberate way. By taking control of my schedule, nurturing key relationships, and setting personal boundaries, I believe I’ll not only enhance my business but also live a more fulfilling, balanced life. Real estate is about much more than closing deals—it’s about the people, the connections, and the experience. And in 2025, I plan to make those experiences as intentional and impactful as possible.
